Where are you with your website?

Starting something new

You need a website that explains what you do and makes getting in touch straightforward. We help turn your business information into a clear starting point online.

Your current website is not working as expected

A new website is not always the answer. We help identify whether confusing information, awkward navigation or broken features call for targeted improvements instead.

Ready for the next stage

Your business has moved on. We look at what to keep, what needs to change and whether clearer pages, a fresh design or additional functionality would help.

Our Free Website Health Check gives you a short report with priority issues and recommended next steps. If you need a fuller investigation, the Professional Website Audit provides a detailed written review for £79. Neither service includes changes to your site. Website Repair and Improvement is quoted separately, from £95.

A website that fits your kind of business

You do not have to be a tradesperson to work with us. You might run a consultancy, a salon, a local shop or café, a holiday let, a professional service or another independent business.

The starting point is the same: what do your customers need to know, and what should they be able to do next? That guides the content, layout and features, rather than making your business fit a particular industry template.

Work in a trade? See our website design for tradesmen page for that service.

Make it clear what you do and how to get in touch

Clear information and useful next steps

Show visitors what you offer, who it is for and how to contact you. We organise your pages around the information customers need, with clear headings, useful navigation and contact routes that are easy to find.

A considered experience on phones and computers

Your website should be comfortable to read and use on different screen sizes. Responsive layouts, readable text and attention to keyboard use and contrast are part of the design approach.

Sound foundations for search

The website packages include basic on-page SEO, mobile and performance optimisation, plus Analytics and Search Console setup. These provide a foundation for your website; ongoing SEO campaigns and advertising are separate services. Search rankings and enquiry numbers cannot be guaranteed.

Extra functionality when you need it

Need a booking form, calendar, product catalogue or a connection to another service? Tell us what you want it to do. For example, a holiday let may need an availability calendar or a link to an existing booking service.

We assess the options and quote additional work separately. Booking systems, online shops, payment services and other integrations are not standard website-package inclusions. Third-party services may have their own setup, subscription or transaction charges.

See different approaches to website design

These completed concept websites show how design can suit different types of business. They demonstrate our design work, rather than customer projects or business results. Any forms and booking journeys within the examples are demonstrations.

What else should you allow for?

On The Map Digital is not VAT registered. No VAT is added to these prices.

Website packages require a 50% deposit before work begins, with the balance due before launch. Changes beyond the included revision rounds are £30 per hour. Work outside the agreed package is quoted separately before it starts.

You purchase your domain and hosting directly from the provider. These are separate ongoing costs, with renewal prices set by that provider. We explain the arrangements before you buy. Any additional software or integration charges are identified in your proposal.

Ongoing website care is optional at £59 per month. Where care is included in a package, the included period is stated above. We agree any continuing paid support with you.

From first conversation to launch

  1. 1. Understand your business

Tell us what you do, who you serve and what you need your website to help with. If you already have a site, we discuss whether it needs improvement or replacement.

  2. 2. Agree the scope and price

We set out the pages, features, responsibilities and costs in writing. Any additional functionality is agreed separately before work begins.

  3. 3. Shape the content and design

You provide accurate business details, services, contact information and any photographs or brand materials you want us to use. We write the website content from your information and prepare the design for review. You check the facts and give feedback within the included revision rounds.

  4. 4. Build, check and hand over

We build the agreed site, check its layout and key functions, and prepare it for launch. We explain the hosting and domain arrangements and hand over the website and access details.

Delivery depends on receiving your information, access and feedback. The package times above are typical working times, rather than guaranteed launch dates. If you have a deadline, tell us at the start so we can discuss what is practical.

Your website, with support when you need it

Your domain and hosting accounts are purchased in your name, and you keep the logins. You own the website we build and can choose who looks after it after launch. Third-party images, software and services remain subject to their own licences and terms.

If you would like ongoing help, our optional Website Care Plan is £59 per month and includes backups, security checks and up to two minor content changes per month. It runs monthly, with 30 days' notice to cancel.

Want to make changes yourself? Tell us before we agree the build. We will explain the available editing arrangements and any effect on scope and cost. A self-service editing system is not automatically included in the website packages.

A couple of other questions

Can you keep useful parts of my existing website?

We assess your existing pages, content and website setup before recommending what to retain or replace. If a rebuild needs content migration or changes to page addresses, we identify that work in the agreed scope.

Does a recent audit count towards a website package?

If you purchase a qualifying website package within 30 calendar days of the date we send your completed Professional Website Audit or Google Business Profile Audit report, we'll deduct the £79 audit fee from your package price. Only one £79 audit credit applies per website package, even if you purchased both audits. The period starts when we send the completed report, not when you order, pay for or open it.

Let's talk about your website

Tell us where your business is now and what you need from its website. We can discuss a new site, improvements to an existing one or additional features, then agree a sensible next step.
